Modern Slavery: Prohibition of choices

On May 24th, we had an interview with Michaela Alfred–Kamara, a member of the British NGO anti-slavery.
After the interview with her, I concluded some things about modern slavery.
Michaela said that modern slavery is terrible and needed to have an end and that together we can stop it. She said that slavery should be forbidden in all forms and in all places, because it is a very wrong thing.
She also said that slavery has become illegal in Brazil since 1888 and in England it was illegal just in 2010, because the government needed to take an action against that.
After, she said that she thinks that modern slavery started a very long time ago, when Brazil used black people as slaves. She thinks that child labour was accepted, before the Industrial Revolution when people could sell and buy one another to make slavery.
Then she said that countries, that traffic children, have lots of different reasons, but the consequences are very big. In the U.S.A, they usually get 20 years of prison. She said that when you use a kid to work hard you are wrong, because it is a serious topic.
In the end, she said that in cases of slavery, freedom is “violated”, because in slavery you are not free.
She concluded that if you are a victim of slavery, you will not have a “normal life, and that if everyone plays their part, we can do it!
